Happy 5th of July!!!

I am a day late and a dollar short with this one, but I'm going to blame it on the fact that I'm in Europe at the moment and therefore didn't get to really celebrate the 4th. The fiance and I went to work and school (respectively) and grocery shopping. Then I cooked something new for dinner (it was sooo salty!) and then we played a new game on the Playstation that is sort of like Jenga with bizarrely shaped pieces (I lost every. freaking. time.).

To celebrate the 4th in my own way, I did my nails the night before and wore my new dress, which happened to be navy, red, and white. It isn't exactly like the one in the picture because mine has a solid navy top/band/bow and the bottom is red with white swirl flowers, like something from a Seuss book. I didn't even realize the color combination was so perfect until the night before! It must have been a fateful purchase. At least I can feel a little better than I bought a casual summer dress instead of a wedding dress while we were shopping only for a wedding dress. Ha ha!

Anyway, on to the nails!

I always do American flags for the 4th. Last year I alternated flags and water marbling, but since I can't get the marble to cooperate here, I just went with a simple red/white/blue theme.

I finally came across the Snow White polishes by Essence that everyone has been so eagerly anticipating today. I bought some of them and swatched them to see if I liked them enough to keep a set for myself. I swatched them before I even took a picture, which is why you see random glitters on this hand. Ha, ha!

On a side note, it was interesting hearing my German language teacher explain to a class of foreigners what Independence Day (Unabhängigkeit Tag) is. I am the only American in my class and the other students are from Ecuador, Russia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Costa Rica, Morocco, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia, China, Japan, and Italy.

How did you celebrate the 4th?
